As a disabled woman with physical and psychological disabilities, I have made it my mission to support, inform and inspire you on a variety of topics from mental health, better sex and even housework and cooking! Having lifelong disabilities, I have often been cast aside as someone who is unemployable and unsuitable for most things (and even ‘awkward’ in one instance!). I want to demonstrate to the world through my quick wit and writing skills that disabled people absolutely can be and are worth a second look and we have just as many hobbies and insights as anyone else!
When I underwent Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2015, something that became glaringly obvious to me is how many people avoid the doctor or therapist’s office for anxiety and depression because of the shame they feel, the stigma that sometimes goes with having a mental health disorder, the costs of treatment or even simply not understanding the therapy involved. I want to break some of the most helpful tools (and my own life experience!) down into fun, friendly and free snippets which I hope will be helpful to you, whoever you are and wherever you may be. Of course, my blog is absolutely not a substitute for therapy and I cannot offer the same support and guidance that a therapist would give, but I hope some of the tools that I have provided will help you while you are looking or waiting for support!
